What is Menufy?
Menufy is an online ordering and marketing platform for independent restaurants. It builds the restaurant a custom ordering website, manages its Google listing, and runs automated email and text marketing, loyalty, and coupons. Menufy started in Kansas City and has been owned by restaurant software company HungerRush since October 2021, so you will also see it branded as Menufy by HungerRush. Diners can order from a restaurant's Menufy site directly or through the Menufy Marketplace at order.menufy.com.
How much does Menufy cost for restaurants?
Menufy's official pricing page lists $179/month on a month-to-month basis or $149/month on a 12-month annual agreement, which includes free equipment. Both plans include the full platform with no tiers and no per-order percentage commission. Separately, Menufy's signup form shows a $1.75 convenience fee on each order, which the restaurant can absorb or pass to customers. Confirm a current quote before signing.
Is Menufy free for restaurants?
Not anymore on published pricing. Menufy was historically known for a free-to-restaurant model where diners paid a small per-order fee. Its current official pricing page lists $149-$179/month subscriptions, and restaurant owners on Reddit report the subscription applies to new customers. The $1.75 per-order convenience fee still exists on top of the subscription.
Who pays the Menufy convenience fee?
The restaurant chooses. Menufy's signup form offers three options for the $1.75 convenience fee: the restaurant pays it, customers pay it, or customers pay it unless the order is above a dollar threshold the restaurant sets. Passing it to customers keeps it off your invoice, but it appears at checkout and changes the price your guests see.
Does Menufy take a commission on orders?
Menufy does not charge a percentage commission on direct orders. Its model is the monthly subscription plus the flat $1.75 convenience fee per order. Delivery is different: Menufy fulfills delivery through DoorDash Drive and Uber Direct, and its own materials list a 12.5% delivery rate, which it positions against 20-30% marketplace rates.
Who owns Menufy?
HungerRush, a Houston-based restaurant POS and cloud software company, announced its acquisition of Kansas City-based Menufy on October 26, 2021. Menufy now operates as Menufy by HungerRush and integrates with the HungerRush 360 POS alongside Clover, Square, and Shift4.
What do Menufy reviews say?
The clearest public signal is app-store ratings for Menufy's diner-facing apps: 2.2 out of 5 on the Apple App Store across 114 ratings, and 3.2 out of 5 on Google Play across 188 ratings. Complaints center on ordering UX, like not being able to track an order after placing it. Those ratings measure the marketplace apps diners use, not every restaurant's own site flow, so place a real test order before deciding.
Menufy vs ChowNow: what is the difference?
Both sell commission-free direct ordering, but the fee shapes differ. Menufy is $149-$179/month plus a flat $1.75 convenience fee per order. ChowNow's published plans start higher ($249-$449/month) and add a 2.95% + 29 cents transaction fee per order, plus diner-side fees on its app. At higher average tickets, a flat per-order fee like Menufy's stays constant while a percentage fee grows.
Menufy vs Orderitto: which is cheaper?
Orderitto is $149/month Starter or $249/month Pro, flat, with zero per-order platform fees of any kind - no commission and no convenience fee. Menufy is $149-$179/month plus $1.75 on every order, paid by you or your guests. At 500 monthly orders that fee is $875. Menufy bundles more done-for-you marketing; Orderitto gives you branded web, iOS, and Android ordering with a cleaner per-order cost of zero.
