Google Business Profile update, checked October 31, 2026

How to remove DoorDash or Uber Eats from your Google Business Profile

Since October 28, 2026, Google lets restaurants switch off an ordering app on their own Business Profile, for pickup, delivery or both, instead of asking the app to remove itself. Here are the steps, the fallback if you don't see the switch yet, what each app costs you per order, and how to make your own ordering link the one diners tap.

One-minute answer

  • Go to your Business Profile, select Food ordering, select the app (DoorDash, Uber Eats or any other) and switch it off for pickup, delivery or both.
  • Google announced this on October 28, 2026. Before, you had to ask each app to take its link down.
  • Don't see the switch? Select the app, then Remove link. Google's help page gives the app 5 business days to remove it.
  • Leave Accept orders on your profile switched on. Turning it off hides every ordering link, including your own.
  • On a $35 order, DoorDash keeps $2.10 for pickup and $5.25 to $10.50 for delivery. Your own link costs about $1.32 in card fees.
  • Then add your own ordering link and set it as preferred for pickup and delivery.
  • Honest limit: Google's help page still described only Remove link when we checked on October 31, 2026. The switch's labels come from Google's announcement.

What changed on October 28, 2026

Google moved the off switch from the app to you

Until now, a delivery app that listed your restaurant on Google stayed there until the app processed your removal request. Google has now given restaurants the switch.

Google's announcement

Lisa Landsman, Google's Head of Industry Engagement & SMB Success, wrote on LinkedIn: “Instead of submitting requests to individual delivery platforms to remove or disconnect a feed, you can now manage and opt out of specific providers directly from your dashboard.”

Pickup and delivery are separate

Search Engine Journal describes the screenshot in Google's post: a Manage provider panel with the heading Show provider to customers and separate switches for pickup and delivery. A Google product manager answered “all” when asked which countries have it.

Google's rules for the apps changed too

Google's ordering policy for providers, updated October 19, 2026, now says: “Merchants may enable or disable a partner integration directly through product controls. All partner integrations are enabled by default, but a merchant may disable a partner at any time.”

What the old rule was

The April 1, 2026 version of the same policy told each app to give restaurants a way to opt out and to “process opt-out requests within 5 business days of submission.” Google's help page still describes that Remove link route.

Step by step

How to turn off DoorDash, Uber Eats or another app on Google

Steps 3, 5 and 6 follow Google's Business Profile help pages, read on October 31, 2026. Step 4 follows Google's October 28 announcement, because the help page did not describe the switch yet. Use an owner or manager login for the profile.

  1. Step 1

    See what diners see

Search your restaurant on Google Search and in Google Maps, signed out, on a phone. Write down every app under Order online or Place an order, and whether each one shows pickup, delivery or both. Google says the buttons sit in different places depending on the country.

  2. Step 2

Check each app against your contracts

Google says providers “who state they have authorized relationships with your business are automatically listed on your profile.” Its policy requires each provider to have a direct contract with you. Mark each app as: keep, pickup only, or off.

  3. Step 3

    Open Food ordering

Sign in with an owner or manager account, go to your Business Profile and select Food ordering. You will see the Accept orders on your profile setting and the list of providers and links. Leave Accept orders on: switching it off hides every ordering link, your own included.

  4. Step 4

Select the app and switch it off

Select the provider. In the panel Google showed on October 28 (titled Manage provider), the heading Show provider to customers has one switch for pickup and one for delivery. Turn off delivery, pickup, or both.

  5. Step 5

No switch yet? Use Remove link

If your screen does not show the switch, select the provider, then Remove link. That is the route on Google's help page. The provider then has 5 business days to take the link down.

  6. Step 6

Make your own link the preferred one

Add your own ordering page with Add link if it is not listed. Then select it, choose Set as preferred, turn on Preferred for pickup and Preferred for delivery, and select Save.

  7. Step 7

    Check again, and keep proof

Search your restaurant again from a signed-out browser and a phone. Save a dated screenshot. If you used Remove link and the app is still there after 5 business days, report it to Google with the violation form.

Report an app that ignores a removal request with Google's third-party violation form. Google's policy says an app must remove any restaurant that asks to be removed from its feed.

Two ways to do it

The new switch vs Remove link

Both start in Food ordering. The difference is who acts and how fast. This comparison is ours, built from Google's announcement, its ordering policy and its help page.

Which apps to keep

What each app costs you on a $35 order

The switch works per order type, so decide per order type. Rates below are each company's own published rates, read on October 31, 2026. The $35 order is our example. DoorDash and Uber Eats say their fee already covers card processing, so the last column compares each app with the card fee you pay on your own link.

Fee on a $35 order by ordering channel
ChannelPublished rateFee on $35Vs your own link
Your own ordering link (card paid through Stripe)2.9% + 30¢ card fee$1.32—
DoorDash pickup6%$2.10$0.78 more
Uber Eats pickup, validated in-store prices7%$2.45$1.13 more
Uber Eats pickup, prices not validated10%$3.50$2.18 more
DoorDash Basic delivery15%$5.25$3.93 more
Uber Eats Lite delivery20%$7.00$5.68 more
DoorDash Plus or Uber Eats Plus delivery25%$8.75$7.43 more
DoorDash Premier or Uber Eats Premium delivery30%$10.50$9.18 more

Scroll the table sideways on a phone. DoorDash's 6% pickup rate requires pickup menu prices that match in-store prices. DoorDash also says orders through its own Online Ordering product are commission-free. The math leaves out ads, promotions and any menu markup you set on the apps.

Google's case for keeping some apps

Landsman wrote: “Diners often stick to the platforms where they hold active subscriptions or stored payment details. Giving them choices can mean capturing an order that might otherwise go elsewhere.” That is a fair point for guests who would never find you otherwise.

Our suggestion

Keep pickup on the apps you use if new guests find you there: it costs $0.78 to $2.18 more than your own link on a $35 order. Switch off delivery on any plan where the fee eats the order's profit. Make your own link the preferred one so regulars order direct. This is our view, not a Google rule.

Run your own numbers in the DoorDash fee calculator, or read the full plan breakdowns in How much does DoorDash charge restaurants? and How much does Uber Eats charge restaurants?.

If something goes wrong

Common problems and what to do

I don't see a switch for the app

Google's help page did not describe the switch when we checked. Use Remove link instead: the app has 5 business days. Check back later for the switch.

Every ordering button disappeared

Accept orders on your profile was probably switched off. Google says that hides all ordering options and links, first-party and third-party. Turn it back on, then switch off single apps.

The app came back, or ignored my request

Google's policy says apps must remove any restaurant that asks and must have a direct contract with every restaurant they list. Keep your dated screenshot and use Google's third-party violation form.

I run several locations

Each location has its own profile. Google has not said the switch works in bulk or through the API, and its links help page says local business links are not available through the API or spreadsheet upload. Check every profile.

How we built this guide

Method and disclosure

Google's own pages first

Steps come from Google's Business Profile help pages and its ordering policy for providers, read on October 31, 2026. The switch comes from Google's October 28 LinkedIn announcement and Search Engine Journal's report of it.

What we did not test

We did not switch an app off on a live restaurant profile for this guide. Button names for the new switch come from Google's announcement. If your screen shows something different, follow your screen.

Fees from each company's page

DoorDash, Uber Eats and Stripe rates were read from their own pricing pages on October 31, 2026. The $35 order and the cost comparison are our math.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove DoorDash from my Google Business Profile?

Go to your Business Profile, select Food ordering and select DoorDash. Google announced on October 28, 2026 that you can now switch a provider off yourself, with separate switches for pickup and delivery. If your screen does not show the switch, select Remove link. DoorDash then has 5 business days to remove it, according to Google's help page.

Can I turn off DoorDash delivery but keep DoorDash pickup?

Yes, according to Google's announcement. The panel Google showed has a Show provider to customers heading with one switch for pickup and one for delivery. Google's help page had not described the switch when we checked on October 31, 2026.

Why is DoorDash on my Google listing when I never signed up?

Google says providers that state they have an authorized relationship with your business are listed automatically. Google's ordering policy requires each provider to have a direct contract with every restaurant in its feed, and to remove any restaurant that asks. If an app you have no contract with keeps showing, switch it off and report it with Google's violation form.

How long does it take for DoorDash or Uber Eats to disappear from Google?

With Remove link, Google's help page says providers must act within 5 business days. Google has not published a waiting time for the new switch. Check your listing again from a signed-out browser after you make the change.

Will turning off Accept orders on your profile remove DoorDash?

It hides DoorDash, but it also hides everything else. Google says that turning it off hides all ordering options and links, both first-party and third-party. Use the per-provider switch or Remove link instead.

The DoorDash menu still shows on Google. How do I fix it?

Ordering links and menus are separate settings. In your Business Profile, select Edit menu, open the Full menu tab, choose your own menu as the preferred menu source and select Save. Google says menu changes can take 24 to 48 hours to show on Maps and Search.

Should I remove every delivery app from Google?

Not always. Google's Lisa Landsman wrote that diners often stick to apps where they hold subscriptions or saved payment details, so listing some apps can catch orders that would go elsewhere. Our suggestion: keep the apps you want for new guests, switch off delivery on plans you lose money on, and make your own ordering link the preferred one.

Can I change this for all my locations at once?

Google has not said. Search Engine Journal noted the announcement did not say whether the switch works in bulk or through the Business Profile API, and Google's links help page says local business links are not available through the API or spreadsheet upload. Plan to check each location's profile.
